Mars Area Youth Wrestling Club is an active member of the The North Hills Wrestling League (NHWL). The NHWL is a league of suburban youth wrestling programs in the northern suburban Pittsburgh area.
The NHWL established the "Road Warrior" competition which is a tournament series wherein competitors accumulate points based on tournament placement success. Point values are determined based on finishing position in Road Warrior Tournaments. The system uses a weighted scale based on the number of wrestlers competing in a particular bracket. This is done to give greater value to larger brackets as placing in a larger bracket is consider more difficult.
On the NHWL website, www.nhywl.org, weekly records are kept tracking the Top 25 Wrestlers based on points earned at the NHWL Road Warrior Tournaments. Novice (1 & 2nd) year wrestlers only, OPEN with 2 or more years experience. Personalized Medals are distributed to the top wrestlers in both the Open and Novice divisions along with trophies for the top 4 wrestlers with the most points in each division. The awards will be distributed at the Road Warrior Classic - the league's year-end tournament.
